New publication from the EAS-LIPRA Project

The latest publication from the EAS-LIPRA initiative highlights a major step forward in shaping the future of cardiovascular research in Africa. Despite a population of over 1.5 billion, lipidology and preventive cardiology research from the continent remains limited. To address this, EAS-LIPRA conducted a Delphi survey with African clinical experts to identify priority research areas.

The result? 42 key research questions that will serve as a roadmap for meaningful, locally relevant studies in lipid disorders and cardiovascular disease.

Key topics include:

  • Prevalence and distribution of lipid disorders
  • Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD)
  • Acute coronary syndrome (ACS)
  • The urgent need for region-specific risk assessment tools

This publication provides critical direction for education, research, and funding across underrepresented regions — with global relevance.
