The EAS LatAm group is a selected team professors and doctors from Latin American-affiliated national societies. The mission is to advance and exchange knowledge of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease in Latin America and the West Indies.

Objectives

  • Increase international scientific exchange on the latest research and emerging developments in clinical practice by creating a programme comprising leading experts from Europe and Latin American regions.
  • Increase exchange and discussion on common, regionally specific issues that affect the scientific and clinical atherosclerosis community, identify key objectives to collectively address them, and develop educational programmes to meet these objectives.
  • Increase international scientific collaboration by sharing experiences of successful initiatives and exploring how they can be replicated, adapted, or expanded into other regions.

  • LatAm webinars & scientific educational collaboration between selected National Societies and EAS with worldwide open access
  • Regional meeting in Latin America and at the EAS Congress.
  • 2025 and onwards we are planning more scientific educational activities
    – Certificate of Excellence in Lipidology for Spanish- and Portuguese audiences

Representatives

The steering committee of the EAS LatAm activities represent the following regions: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico and Uruguay.
