About

The EAS Lipid Clinic Network (EAS-LCN) is an international collaborative network that brings together lipid clinics and specialty healthcare professionals involved in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of lipid disorders. The network aims to support high-quality, equitable care for patients with lipid disorders, globally, through harmonisation, education, and knowledge exchange.

Building on the ESC/EAS Guidelines, EAS consensus statements, and other key EAS publications, the EAS-LCN supports the translation of the latest scientific evidence into clinical practice, while allowing adaptation to national and local healthcare systems. In 2026, the network continues to expand globally, welcoming a broader multidisciplinary community involved in lipid care.

Aims of EAS Lipid Clinic Network

Reduction in the societal burden of ASCVD by improving diagnosis and management of lipid disorders in the lipid clinic, through:

  • Agreed common definition of a lipid clinic
  • Standard procedures for diagnosis & treatment of lipid disorders, and future ASCVD risk, aligned with, but not restricted to, current European Guidelines on management of dyslipidaemias and the goals of the EU Safe Hearts Plan
  • Harmonized national and international standards for procedures and processes in the clinic
  • Establish performance standards, metrics with the aim of improving lipid management and thus ASCVD risk
  • Globally accepted public health policies regarding screening, diagnosis and treatment of lipid disorders
  • Promoting awareness among policy makers within governments and national healthcare systems of the individual and societal benefits – and reduced costs – of improving prevention of ASCVD by improved management of lipids and lipid disorders
  • Drive support for national research to demonstrate care and/or implementation gaps and educational programmes and reimbursement of therapies dedicated to patients with lipid disorders

Benefits of the network

By participating in the EAS-LCN, members benefit from being part of a structured network that helps facilitate:

  • Exchange of clinical knowledge, experiences and best practices in the diagnosis and management of lipid disorders.
  • Discussions of challenges and barriers to optimal lipid care, and potential solutions.
  • Access to educational activities, including local and international webinars based on EAS Guidelines, consensus papers, and other key publications.
  • Opportunities to engage in training courses, and collaborative initiatives focused on improving and harmonising lipid care.
  • Access to ongoing education and professional development through webinars, on-demand content, and other learning activities available via the EAS Academy.
