ESC/EAS Joint Session: Liver and Lipids in Cardiometabolic Syndrome
Date: Saturday August 31
Time: 17:30-18:30
Session room: Rabat
Chairpersons: Marianne Benn (Rigshospitalet – Copenhagen University Hospital – Copenhagen, Denmark) and Andreas Zirlik (Medical University of Graz – Graz, Austria)
More on the session
This session aims to increase understanding of cardiometabolic syndrome including its definition and why it is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease; will delve into the relationships among steatotic liver disease, mixed dyslipidaemia, and isolated hypertriglyceridemia; to improve treatment of cardiometabolic syndrome – i.e. are there specific treatments or do we simply reduce all other known cardiovascular risk factors?; and will discuss how cardiometabolic dyslipidaemia is treated – i.e. is the treatment like that of any other dyslipidaemia or should we also focus on lowering plasma triglycerides?
Presentations
17:30 | Steatotic liver disease and lipids in cardiometabolic syndrome | Stefano Romeo (Sahlgrenska Academy – University of Gothenburg – Gothenburg, Sweden) |
