Should we do cascade screening for Lp(a)? by Dr Jaimini Cegla
Dr Jaimini Cegla has a special interest in lipidology and cardiovascular risk and divides her time between clinical, laboratory, and academic research roles. She serves on the National Clinical Advisory Group for Lipids, which advises NHS England on cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention strategies.
She addresses a topical and controversial issue, presenting a balanced review of the arguments for and against cascade screening in the families of index cases with elevated Lp(a) concentrations.
