End the year with inspiration at our last Featured Open Lecture of 2025!

In this lecture, Prof. Gemma Figtree discusses acute coronary syndromes and the absence of standard modifiable risk factors (SMuRFs). It is known that around 25% of heart attack patients have no traditional risk factors; therefore, early detection of plaque would be a game changer. Women without SMuRFs have the worst outcomes after myocardial infarction. Thus, gaining a deeper understanding of the factors driving susceptibility and resilience is the next major step in preventing disease.
