Controversy: Are we ready to treat inflammation for ASCVD prevention?

Featured Open Lecture: January-February 2025

In this controversy, Prof. Paul Ridker and Prof. Ulrich Laufs brilliantly review the state of the art regarding the challenges of treating inflammation to prevent ischemic cardiovascular complications. The aim of the discussion is to address the question: Is the current knowledge consistent enough to initiate such treatments in addition to the existing therapeutic tools?

The controversy is divided into three parts: two 15-minute lectures and an open discussion with the audience.
