Lipid Clinic Network Committee

The EAS Lipid Clinic Network (LCN) brings together clinics to address challenges in management of lipid disorders in European countries. The Lipid Clinic Network provides a structure to establish uniform EU-wide standards of diagnosis, management and treatment of patients with lipid disorders, based on the ESC/EAS Guidelines on management of dyslipidaemias.

Remit


  • Governance and leadership
    The Committee serves as the governing body for the activities and projects within the Lipid Clinic Network (LCN). This dedicated team provide direction, create engagement within the network, and address any obstacles or barriers to progress. The Committee ensures that LCN activities harmonize with the European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) strategy. Actively seeking synergies, the committee integrates LCN initiatives with EAS strategic goals.
  • Resource allocation and budget oversight
    Responsible for allocating resources and oversee budgets, ensuring that financial resources are strategically utilized to support the activities and projects of the LCN. Support funding is paid to the Society.
  • Project oversight
    Responsibility of overseeing the specific projects. Through close collaboration with designated counterparts—project manager stationed at the EAS Office in Gothenburg—the committee ensures a structured and efficient project management process.
  • Stakeholder engagement and network building
    The committee is actively engaged in managing relationships with stakeholders. This includes the sponsoring companies, members of the LCN, patient organizations, and other relevant parties to build a robust and interconnected network.
  • Strategic development
    Responsibility of developing strategy for the Lipid Clinic Network. This involves setting long-term goals, and evaluating progress towards overarching objectives.

Appointment of committee members


  • The Committee consists of the EAS President, EAS Past-President, EAS Vice President, EAS Secretary and EAS Executive Committee ordinary member responsible for Education.
  • The EAS aims for a balanced representation of gender, expertise, and geographical regions.
