Jacqueline Dron, PhD, is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Center for Genomic Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard (United States). She was named a 2020-2021 Banting Postdoctoral Researcher by the Government of Canada through the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), and previously was an NHLBI BioData Catalyst Fellow.

Dr. Dron earned her PhD in Biochemistry under the supervision of Dr. Robert Hegele at Western University (Canada), where she studied the genetic determinants underlying dyslipidemia. Through her work, she substantially contributed towards the understanding of the genetic basis of hypertriglyceridemia, with a particular emphasis on polygenic factors. From her efforts, Dr. Dron was recognized as a “rising star in the lipid field” by the editors of Journal of Lipid Research in 2019.

Presently, in the lab of Dr. Amit Khera, Dr. Dron’s research is focused on leveraging both genetic and non-genetic data (i.e., proteomics and metabolomics) to identify clinically relevant subtypes and new pathways driving risk of coronary artery disease, and continues to further explore classical cardiovascular risk factors, such as lipids.
