Dr Marta Futema is a lecturer in Cardiovascular Science at St George’s University of London, where she uses large genomics datasets and computational approaches to understand causes of inherited cardiovascular diseases. Prior to the lectureship, she was a research fellow at University College London (UCL) where she also did her PhD on the ‘Genetic Architecture of Familial Hypercholesterolaemia (FH)’ under the supervision of Prof Steve Humphries. Marta’s work has had an impact on the UK clinical guidelines on FH, the NICE Guidelines.
