The inaugural LatAm-EAS webinar is just one month away!

On Sunday, April 7th, World Health Day was celebrated. Efforts are being dedicated to addressing health challenges. By defining obesity as a chronic disease, the World Health Organization (WHO) has significantly contributed to dissociating it from a simplistic perspective, wherein its carriers are socially stigmatized and victims of prejudices harmful to self-esteem. Obesity is indeed a disease of epidemic proportions in our time – a true public health emergency, characterized by an excess of adiposity capable of seriously impairing health. It is a condition associated with several morbid consequences and should be addressed in light of the best medical evidence.

This webinar is aimed at addressing the obesity burden from an epidemiological perspective, the pathophysiological derangements that link ectopic adiposity with heart and kidney diseases, and the therapeutic strategies to tackle this challenge.

Take this historic step with us. Join the inaugural LatAm-EAS webinar now and share information with your colleagues. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to expand your knowledge and network.

Fatty Liver and Cardiovascular Disease: Partners in Crime? Explore further at the EAS Academy

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), is a common condition and it is projected to become the first cause of liver transplant in Europe and United States. The disease comprises a spectrum of conditions from steatosis to steatohepatitis, fibrosis and ultimately to cirrhosis and cancer. Interestingly, NAFLD also strongly coexists with dyslipidemia and individuals with NAFLD often present with cardiovascular disease.

In this webinar, the speakers will report on the current knowledge of NAFLD focusing on the cardiovascular risk aspects. The presentations are given by three front-line researchers in the field.
