Dr Peter Libby is a cardiovascular medicine specialist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and the Mallinckrodt Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS), Boston, USA. The team he leads provided major insights in the mechanisms of atherosclerosis.

This lecture entwines aging, cancer, and cardiovascular disease by examining clonal haematopoiesis and the risk of atherosclerosis an exciting new avenue.

FH Webinar series: Let’s treat FH together as a collaboration between EAS and FH Europe – The European FH Patient Network

The FH Week, taking place from September 25th to 29th, will encompass this engaging FH webinar series as one of its integral components.

The FH webinar series is a collaboration between a patient group, FH Europe, and a global community of research scientists and healthcare professionals, the European Atherosclerosis Society. This is the first time an FH webinar series is both for patients and clinicians.

The Clinician’s Handbook is available to you for free as an EAS member

The Clinician’s Handbook was created to help practitioners translate the guidelines into patient care. The Handbook comprises of fourteen distinct clinical cases, wherein the authors demonstrate the utilization of the Guidelines in assessing the cardiovascular risk of the patient and the recommended treatment options for each case.

For members of the EAS, the Clinician’s Handbook is available for free.

EAS Online course, Certificate of Excellence in Lipidology – 2023 Update

Due to the high prevalence of atherosclerotic vascular disease, clinicians often encounter challenges when addressing various facets of the condition. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of clinical care for individuals with cardiovascular disease or those seeking cardiovascular prevention.

Additionally, professionals in clinical science, epidemiology, and translational cardiovascular research will gain valuable insights that can enhance their respective fields of study.

The program introduces new areas of focus, including Remnant cholesterol, the application of polygenic risk scores in diagnosing combined dyslipidemia, and bempedoic acid. Furthermore, the multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for both pre and post-tests have been thoroughly reviewed and updated.
