Alberico L. Catapano received his degree from the University of Milano, Italy and a PhD in Pharmacology.
Currently, he is Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Milano, Director of the Laboratory Lipoproteins and Metabolism and of the Clinical Center for the Study of Atherosclerosis of the Italian Society of Atherosclerosis at the “Bassini” Hospital. He is also Director of the Center of Epidemiology and Preventive Pharmacology of the University of Milano. He also acts as Editor of the Atherosclerosis journal Supplements.
His research interests are related to: lipoprotein metabolism, lipid lowering drugs, apolipoproteins, structure and function, chemical trials, population studies.
Prof. Catapano has authored more than 330 scientific papers in peer reviewed journals and several books in the area of atherosclerosis, lipoproteins and lipid metabolism.
