Prof. de las Heras M.D., Ph.D., is currently the coordinator of the Congenital Metabolic Diseases Unit at Hospital Universitario Cruces in Bilbao, Spain, a national reference center for Inherited Metabolic Diseases which belongs to the European Reference Network in Hereditary Metabolic Diseases. He is assoc. professor of Pediatrics at the University of the Basque Country and coordinator of the Congenital Disorders of the Metabolism research group at Biocruces-Bizkaia Health Research Institute, a clinical research group linked to CIBERER-ISCIII (GCV14). – Master’s degree in Research Methodology in Health Sciences at the Autonomous University of Barcelona – 15 months research stay at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (USA) – author of 30 indexed scientific articles, as well as 19 book chapters in the field of Inborn Errors of the Metabolism Principal Investigator in different competitive studies at both national and European level, as well as in various clinical trials.
