Open Lecture Nov 2021: Gene-based therapies – The next generation of Atherosclerosis treatment

We are currently in the era where gene-based drug approaches are likely to revolutionize our ability to treat patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, more specifically and more aggressively. This lecture discuss the diversity of RNA-targeting drugs, their mechanism of action, structural modifications made to improve their half-life and activity as well as the various approaches for the targeted delivery of these drugs. The pharmacodynamic and clinical efficacy of current RNA-targeting strategies in lipid management, is also presented.
