Lipotoxicity – a pathogenic mechanism of cell and organ damage by Prof Jan Borén
The role of lipids in cardiovascular disease is well established through epidemiological studies; however, the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms remain largely unknown. Numerous recent studies focus on the deleterious impact of lipids on cardiovascular health.
In this lecture, Prof. Jan Borén presents a state-of-the-art overview of current knowledge in the field. To further deepen understanding of this topic, we recommend the online Advanced Course: Lipidomics, Lipotoxicity, and Organ Damage: Uncovering New Lipid-Dependent Pathophysiological Pathways, Biomarkers, and Therapeutic Targets, available on the EAS Academy.
