A collaborative effort across Africa to investigate risk factors and outcomes of premature acute coronary syndrome: Protocol for the EAS Lipid Registry of Africa (LIPRA)
Data on acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is limited in Africa, where cases of premature ACS appear to be increasing. An epidemiological assessment of premature ACS in Africa could provide valuable insights into its risk factors and management within this population, helping to inform guidelines and clinical practices.
Recognizing this need, our society in collaboration with EAVA established a growing network across 11 African countries to develop the Lipid Registry of Africa (EAS-LIPRA). This is part of the EAS’s National Societies Programme.
Now, we’re delighted to announce an article that outlines the EAS-LIPRA protocol, presenting the project’s aims, conceptual framework, methodological approach, and its collaborative governance structure:
