Requirements for meeting endorsement

Endorsement of international Society meetings

The criteria that must be fulfilled for EAS endorsement of a scientific meeting are as follows:

  1. Application must come in written form, from an EAS member, an Atherosclerosis Society or an Association and should be submitted together with the preliminary programme to [email protected].
  2. The meeting must have at least 3 international speakers.
  3. The intent of the meeting should be educational rather than promotional and the EAS will have the right to review each scientific programme in both its preliminary and final stages, to ensure that EAS endorsement is given only to appropriate activities.
  4. EAS’ endorsement should be acknowledged, with EAS logo included in the programme, no smaller than other supporter logos. EAS Executive Committee must approve the use of EAS logo.
  5. Acknowledgement of EAS in the following ways:
    • An information slide about EAS & activities to be presented at the opening lecture.
    • EAS logo to be included in the programme, no smaller than other supporter logos

Participation of EAS in other society meetings, organisation of joint sessions

The criteria that must be fulfilled for EAS participation in other society meetings and the process for the organisation for joint session of a scientific meeting are as follows:

  1. Application must come in written form 6 months prior to the national society meeting, from an EAS member, an Atherosclerosis Society or an Association and should be submitted together with the preliminary programme to [email protected].
  2. EAS Executive Committee to have full programme approval, at least one month before the meeting.
  3. Acknowledgement of EAS in the following ways:
    • An information slide about EAS & activities to be presented at the opening lecture.
    • EAS logo to be included in the programme, no smaller than other supporter logos
  4. One EAS Executive Committee member to be present as Society representative if possible.
  5. EAS Executive Committee must approve the use of EAS logo.

EAS is particularly interested to encourage the activities of national atherosclerosis societies.

Participation of EAS in other society meetings, organisation of joint sessions in regions: Africa, Asia and Latin America

The EAS will plan a satellite meeting, workshop, courses, in the different regions: one region per year and join their major annual regional meeting, at jointly selected location by the national societies in the region.

  • Half a day to 1 day
  • All National Societies in the region invited to the meeting/workshop
  • Multiple EAS Speakers/Chairs
  • Arranged by Regional/local National Society
  • Partly sponsored by EAS
  • Programme jointly drafted by EAS and Regional Societies based on Regional requests/EAS Expertise

  2. EAS Executive Committee to have full programme approval, at least one month before the meeting.
