DeLisa Fairweather, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Immunology and Clinical Translational Science at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida and Director of Translational Research in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine.

Dr. Fairweather’s research focuses on sex/gender differences in disease as a tool to discover new therapies for cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases including myocarditis which she has been studying for 25 years receiving grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the American Heart Association (AHA).

She is an active member of the Organization for the Study of Sex Differences and is one of the co-founders of the Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Clinic at Mayo Florida and a leader on the Mayo-led US Expanded Access Program for the use of convalescent plasma for patients with COVID-19.
